AAUW Five Cities-Pismo Beach* invites the public to attend a presentation by Arroyo Grande resident, author, and former long-time history teacher Jim Gregory. Gregory will speak on his book "San Luis Obispo County Outlaws: Desperados, Vigilantes and Bootleggers at the Arroyo Grande Women’s Club in the community center. Gregory is the author of four books that focus on local history, including World War II Arroyo Grande; Patriot Graves: Discovering a California Town’s Civil War Heritage; and Central Coast Aviators in World War II. Mr. Gregory attended local schools and, after university, returned to teach for thirty years at Mission Prep in San Luis Obispo and Arroyo Grande High School. He was Lucia Mar’s Teacher of the Year in 2010-11 and began writing upon his retirement in 2015. On October 15 doors will open at 6:30, and the program will begin at 7 pm. Admission is free. Mr. Gregory will have signed copies of his books available for purchase for $20.
