Symphony Fall Concert: "Music for a New World"

The Cal Poly Symphony's 2009-2010 season traces the emergence of a unique, American voice in orchestral music. "Music for a New World" starts that exploration with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, "From the New World." It was completed in 1893 as a musical challenge to American composers to create a uniquely American sound.
