As the self professed "unplugged guy with a bunch of noisy friends," Ian Anderson commands much respect as an acoustic musician amongst his peers. The only original member of Jethro Tull, he has remained synonymous with the brand identity. Now, after 40 years of leading Tull to 52 countries spanning several continents, Ian Anderson brings his new acoustic tour to old and new friends alike.

Nov 10, 2009 - Steaphan
Ian Anderson - Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo, CA

The concert showed the intrinsic mark of being under the creative control of Ian Anderson. From what I observed, most of the audience at this "sold out" concert appreciated Ian's verbal introductions to all of the compositions. I doubt if anybody was left to disappointment... If they were, that would be because they were a bit accustomed to many Jethro Tull concerts (and understandably so).

I have never seen a concert where the band members were brought out and introduced in gradual fashion; in other words, one to two at a time depending on the requirement of the song. All of these professionals performed superbly. Ian Anderson has always known how to put a band together.

Ian was predictably active with the flute and hasn't slowed down much. His singing voice was a bit higher and perhaps a bit more nasality was employed but the quality of his singular British folk style was quite intact. Along with Ian's trademark energy, his verbal introductions were very entertaining.

He still has it!
