Activities at this 19-acre urban farm will include hayrides, farm tours, visits to the pumpkin patch, and a yoga session with Whitney Bennett. In the mini marketplace meet the farmers, purchase fresh farm produce and check out an array of local businesses, nonprofits and Cal Poly Clubs will sell their goods and share their cause or project. Get your hands and feet in the mud at the cob construction site of an African Mud Hut. The kids will love it. Bring an extra pair of clothes.
Known for making music for the masses, the Joy Polloi Band, will play eclectic covers from Neil Young to Talking Heads and their own originals from the solar powered stage. Step into the Beer Garden for where you'll find healthy food choices and/or to partake of your preferred beverage: Julia's Juices, Whalebird, Beda's Biergarten, and Baileyana winery.
A tour of the farm will show the latest results of City Farm SLO’s ongoing programs: Pacific Beach Farm School Project, the Horticultural Therapy Project for developmentally disabled young adults and the community work day on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Learn about the Farm Stand program. Fresh no-pesticide, no synthetic fertilizer vegetables grown on site by the tenant farmers are for sales Wednesdays from 3pm to 6pm.
