Western-inspired barbecue restaurant with a large patio
Went on a quiet Tuesday night. Service and food was great. 4 in party had variety of steaks and all were cooked as requested and very tender. Service also excellent. Will return for dinner and try lunch.
We went here a couple of weeks ago not knowing what to expect. The place had a line of people waiting to get in and we could hear pretty good live music on the porch. Both encouraging signs as far as we were concerned.
The service was cheery and good and the food was plentiful and very good. I had the fish tacos and couldn't finish them. I really wanted to, they were excellent.
They also have a nice beer and wine selection.
We're going back tonight.
While most Cal Poly graduates trade in their books for desk jobs, Trevor LaSalle and Eric Peterson took what they learned from their college jobs at A. J. Spurs and opened a restaurant.
The pair debuted the Guest House Grill in Atascadero earlier this year where they serve up barbecued steaks, seafood and burgers in a casual setting. The restaurant was renovated by the duo before opening and now boasts both booth and bistro tables in a cozy setting with a vast patio.
